About Surgicare of Wichita

Surgicare of Wichita, LLC, formerly known as the Minor Surgery Center of Wichita, was established on February 18, 1974, as the first demonstration of entrepreneurship in outpatient surgery in Wichita, Kansas. Surgicare of Wichita was the second freestanding surgery center to open in the United States. The goal was, then, and continues to be, to provide the highest quality patient care and customer service.

After 39 years at the original location, the first surgeries were performed at the new location at 2818 N. Greenwich Road, on February 14, 2013.

The staff and physicians of Surgicare of Wichita are proud to provide quality modern health care in a state of the art facility. The current facility provides adequate space for accessibility, privacy and infection control. The latest equipment for decontamination and sterilization of instruments as well as state of the art equipment to perform less invasive endoscopic procedures in many specialties of surgery is available to our staff and physicians to take care of our patients. Additionally, the interior of the building was constructed to provide reinforced shelter in the event of a tornado or severe weather.

Today, Surgicare of Wichita is still committed to the original purpose established by its physician founders to provide cost-effective, high- quality health care in a freestanding outpatient facility. Surgeries and procedures are performed by Board Certified physicians on staff specializing in ear, nose and throat; gynecology; orthopaedics; general surgery; podiatry; gastroenterology; ophthalmology; pain management; urology; plastic surgery and dental.

That commitment is demonstrated by our current Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) certification. A continuous quality improvement program is the heart of an accredited facility to insure patient safety and satisfaction. Surgicare’s staff in 1974 was committed to these goals and that legacy continues into the 21st century.
